Job description

Role Overview

Galliford Try is searching for an Estimator to join their Manchester team, handling multiple projects across the Northwest region. This role focuses on delivering accurate cost assessments and supporting the tendering process in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed cost planning and apply first principles to estimate project expenses.
  • Measure and extract quantities from both electronic and paper-based drawings.
  • Prepare bills of quantity and pricing documentation accurately.
  • Issue subcontract and material inquiries to gather pricing information.
  • Analyze and review project specifications.
  • Evaluate incoming quotations for compliance and accuracy.
  • Compile various pricing components to establish the tender sum.
  • Assist in tender adjudication and settlement preparations.
  • Perform commercial reviews of tender opportunities and associated documents.
  • Analyze financial risks and opportunities related to projects.
  • Develop and maintain supplier and supply chain relationships to optimize commercial positions.
