Job summary

Allmar Inc. is hiring an Estimator in Red Deer, Alberta. Working under the guidance of a senior estimator or contract salesperson, the role involves reviewing architectural drawings, collecting the information needed for hollow metal, hardware, wood doors, and related products, and turning that information into accurate pricing quotations.

Key responsibilities

• Keep supplier price lists and company discount information current.
• Build product lists from architectural drawings while following internal buying guidelines.
• Perform quantity take-offs, price the items, and prepare complete quotations that include inbound and outbound freight.
• Obtain pricing from vendors and work toward securing the most competitive cost.
• Use computer applications, including Excel, to create project quotations.
• Apply product expertise to recommend suitable alternatives for hollow metal, hardware, wood doors, and other related items.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities

• Prior knowledge and hands-on experience with hardware products is required.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Good understanding of hardware, door, and building construction sectors.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings accurately.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid mathematical skills for pricing and quantity work.

Education and experience

An Architectural Engineering Certificate is considered an advantage. The role calls for 2–3 years of relevant experience. Full company training will be provided. Candidates should be comfortable using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as AutoCAD.
