Job Overview

This position is based on-site in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where the successful candidate will contribute significantly to a new manufacturing program. We seek an Intermediate Estimator with experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing sectors to join our reputable client.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze client specifications and drawings to develop comprehensive scopes of work and work packages.
• Calculate necessary person-hours and resource requirements for manufacturing and repair operations.
• Prepare and oversee subcontractor and material Request for Quotations (RFQs) or assist the Supply Chain team by providing technical expertise.
• Develop detailed execution Method Statements aligned with project scope and client expectations.
• Support the assembly and submission of competitive bid or tender packages, collaborating with multidisciplinary estimating teams.

Required Qualifications

• Post-secondary credentials in Engineering or Engineering Technology; alternatively, Red Seal Journeyman certification in a pertinent industrial trade is advantageous.
• Between four and seven years of estimating experience within construction, manufacturing, or heavy industry projects.
• Expertise with engineering, estimating, or drafting software along with a strong ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience in contract negotiation and awareness of commercial and government contract specifications.
