Position Overview
The Employee Relations Generalist (ERG) will collaborate directly with both the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Regional HR Manager. This role entails managing the daily human resources activities within specific offices, requiring adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative workplace environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive and unbiased investigations into workplace complaints such as harassment, discrimination, or misconduct, and propose suitable corrective measures.
- Offer advice and clarifications on company policies and procedures to staff and leadership to ensure uniform application organization-wide.
- Support supervisors in managing employee performance issues, including creating and overseeing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions.
- Administer exit interviews to gather insights and trends concerning staff turnover.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of employee relations cases, investigation findings, results, and compliance documentation.
- Help facilitate recruitment by sourcing candidates, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews for staff and attorneys.
- Contribute to employee training efforts and assist in performance review processes.
- Manage data entry operations related to employee records such as new hires, personnel updates, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist in monitoring and balancing Paid Time Off (PTO) accounts.
- Organize and coordinate office events and activities.
- Travel occasionally to multiple office sites as needed.
- Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned.
Experience and Requirements
- Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Possess a bachelor's degree with at least three years of human resources experience, or a minimum of five years in HR within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proven HR expertise coupled with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience utilizing Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information rigorously.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and maintains a positive attitude.
- Thrives in a team-oriented workplace.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
