Overview
This role, representing our partner company based in Germany, invites an experienced professional to lead the quality and management of product data and digital merchandising operations in a growing ecommerce setting. The position is central to maintaining accurate and consistent product information while enhancing visibility across various online sales platforms. It is well suited for those who enjoy blending data analysis with content management and ecommerce strategies to enhance customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy of product catalogs across multiple ecommerce channels and internal content systems.
- Update and improve product titles, descriptions, images, metadata, and categorization following SEO and platform guidelines.
- Regularly audit product listings to find and correct errors, inconsistencies, or missing details.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to catalog errors and data quality to maintain a seamless customer journey.
- Help develop and maintain product taxonomies, attributes, and SKU structures for new and existing items.
- Work collaboratively with marketing, content, design, and operations teams to ensure effective digital product representation.
- Track updates on ecommerce platforms, competitor activities, and category trends to find optimization opportunities.
- Analyze catalog data to provide actionable insights for merchandising and optimization strategies.
- Participate in advancements of catalog management processes, workflows, and automation projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, Data Analysis, or related fields.
- Between five and seven years of experience in product catalog management, ecommerce operations, or related data/content analyst roles.
- Experience with platforms such as Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, Shopify, Magento, or equivalents.
- Proficient with content management systems and digital product data handling workflows.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to accurately manage extensive product data sets.
- Understanding of SEO principles, product taxonomy, metadata optimization, and online merchandising best practices.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets for product data analysis and interpretation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving aptitude plus ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems, catalog automation, or information workflow tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics or Data Studio for monitoring product performance is a plus.
