About the Role

The World Bank Group is seeking a Regional Engagement Analyst to support its Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency. This position is focused on enhancing stakeholder engagement and adoption of technological and geospatial solutions across regions, especially supporting country teams and Global Practices. The role is located in Nairobi, Kenya, and is offered for a term of one year under local recruitment.

Organizational Context

ITS VPU empowers the World Bank Group's mission by delivering transformative information and technology services to staff in over 150 locations worldwide. The ITS Operations and Country Engagement Department provides innovative products and services to staff engaged on 6,000+ projects globally, focusing on boosting operational efficiency through technology and design.

The ITS Country Engagement unit delivers digital support and geospatial solutions that improve spatial visibility and project impact tracking. It facilitates AI-driven business solutions for enhanced data-driven decision-making across the institution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for the Regional Operations Studio, promoting ITS products and services and coordinating activities to connect country teams with relevant expertise and advisory services.
  • Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, co-design sessions, and engagement events to increase stakeholder participation and solution adoption.
  • Identify and capture operational requirements and technology challenges, linking stakeholders to suitable products or advisory services.
  • Lead outreach and communication efforts to boost awareness and engagement with the Regional Operations Studio.
  • Build and nurture relationships with country, regional teams, Global Practices, and OPCS to strengthen solution utilization.
  • Monitor outcomes and gather feedback to improve the Studio's impact and user experience.
  • Act as the regional focal point for the ITSCE Geospatial Solutions portfolio, promoting geospatial products, services, and advisory capabilities tailored to operational challenges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geospatial tools such as project geo-tagging, mapping, imagery applications, and digital twins, and effectively communicate their value.
  • Support preparation of materials that highlight how geospatial insights enhance project design, implementation, monitoring, and decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical and geospatial concepts into actionable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of technologies including AI, data, and geospatial solutions and how they support operational improvements.
  • Basic familiarity with geospatial concepts such as mapping, location-based data, spatial analysis, and their operational uses.
  • Knowledge of digital twins and their applications in planning, infrastructure, urban development, asset management, and monitoring is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills in storytelling, visual communication, and use of maps and dashboards to convey insights and engage stakeholders.
  • Exposure to satellite imagery, remote sensing, drone imagery, or related workflows is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational, coordination, and prioritization skills to manage multiple stakeholders and engagements.
  • A proactive, client-focused, and curious approach to identify opportunities and enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with World Bank operational workflows such as country engagement, mission support, project supervision and portfolio management is a plus.
  • Experience organizing or contributing to outreach, workshops, clinics, and community-building events is valued.
  • Previous experience in international development institutions or multilateral development banks is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.

Additional Information

This appointment is an Extended Term (ET) of up to three years maximum in total service. Candidates who have completed three years of ET appointments are ineligible for reappointment.
