Role Overview
Coopero Ltd., a Mechanical Services and Building Facilities Management firm serving Pharmaceutical, Commercial, and Industrial sectors in Cork, Ireland, is seeking an Operations Director. This leader will oversee all operational aspects, ensuring projects and service contracts are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to superior quality standards. They will also be responsible for the company’s operational performance, profitability, resource planning, customer satisfaction, and support the organization's strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily business operations to guarantee safe, profitable, and timely project delivery.
- Formulate and apply operational strategies aligned with company goals.
- Track operational metrics using KPIs and management reports.
- Drive excellence across departments and oversee mechanical installation from pre-construction through completion.
- Plan and coordinate labour, equipment, subcontractors, and material resources effectively.
- Handle programme risks and resources allocation.
- Troubleshoot operational issues affecting project outcomes.
- Assure service delivery meets contractual agreements and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Maximize contract retention and oversee financial performance, including budgets and profit margins.
- Control labour, procurement, and operational expenditures.
- Promote and uphold a robust health and safety culture and comply with relevant laws and company policies.
- Support risk management efforts, incident investigations, and corrective measures.
- Maintain high quality assurance standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and set targeted objectives.
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Attend client meetings, resolve escalated issues, and identify opportunities for additional projects and long-term partnerships.
- Represent the company professionally in the industry and lead initiatives for operational efficiency and business growth.
- Implement change management programs and improve operational systems and processes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in operations management within mechanical services, M&E, HVAC, or building services contracting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong commercial insight and financial management skills, including budgeting.
- Effective leadership and people management capabilities managing large teams.
- Excellent planning, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Valid full driving licence.
