About the Role
A partner company based in the United States is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and manage the HR function for their growing organization. This leadership position involves shaping and executing strategic people initiatives that support business goals and foster a productive, inclusive workplace environment. The role encompasses end-to-end management of the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, compliance, and benefits administration. Collaboration with leadership across departments ensures HR activities align with operational priorities while adhering to employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all human resources activities, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with business objectives.
- Advise executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, employee engagement, talent management, and succession planning.
- Create and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee programs that comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide expertise in employee relations, including performance management, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and enforcement of corrective measures.
- Oversee performance review systems, leadership development, employee training, onboarding, and retention initiatives that support workforce growth.
- Manage employee benefits programs, vendor collaborations, HR compliance audits, reporting, and employment documentation.
- Lead HR operational functions such as HRIS management, record keeping, onboarding/offboarding processes, continuous improvements, and workforce analytics reporting.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics, designing dashboards that support informed, data-driven decisions and organizational effectiveness.
- Coach and develop HR team members, notably the HR Generalist, promoting collaboration, accountability, and ongoing process enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline.
- At least six years of progressively responsible HR experience, with significant leadership duties.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, employee relations, performance and compensation management, benefits administration, and best HR practices.
- Experience supporting operations within regulated environments; experience in government contracting is advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven track record of building trusted relationships across all organizational levels while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, employee records handling, and HR reporting; familiarity with Paychex is a plus.
- Strong analytical abilities to leverage HR data toward improving processes and outcomes.
- Professional HR certifications like SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR are preferred.
- Knowledge of federal contractor compliance requirements including OFCCP and affirmative action programs is beneficial.
