About the Position

This is a strategic leadership role as Development Lead for the Parent and Infant Relationship Service within the Universal Support Service. The role involves managing the delivery of evidence-based interventions focusing on secure attachment, infant mental health, and fostering positive early relationships during the vital first 1,001 days of life.

Collaborating across the Best Start in Life programme and Family Hubs, you will work with partners in health, early years, social care, family support, and the community to develop an integrated family support approach. Responsibilities include service development, quality assurance, workforce training, and performance enhancement, shaping early intervention services throughout the borough.

Team Environment

• The service is housed within the Lifelong Learning, Skills & Employment Division's Universal Support Service.
• The vision is to provide every infant with the best start in life by strengthening parent-infant bonds and supporting infant mental wellness.
• The service delivers on the Best Start in Life Strategy in coordination with statutory agencies and voluntary organizations.
• The Development Lead reports to the Service Manager and provides professional leadership borough-wide.
• Partnerships span Children's Services, Public Health, Health Visiting, Midwifery, Early Years, CAMHS, Family Support, and community groups.
• The role involves participation in the wider Leadership Team, promoting innovation and collaborative improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience leading or developing services enhancing outcomes for babies, children, and families.
• Strong insight into infant mental health and parent-infant relationships.
• Ability to foster effective professional collaborations and influence organizational change.
• Skilled in data analysis, evidence-based decision making, and transforming strategies into tangible service advancements.
• Passionate about elevating practice standards and mentoring or coaching colleagues.
• Experienced in quality improvement, service development, and performance management efforts.
• Dedicated to inclusive, community-oriented service delivery aligned with Hounslow’s values.

Additional Information

• Holding an enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role.
