Overview
As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will influence the development and enhancement of products used by billions globally across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Leveraging advanced technical and analytical capabilities on one of the world's largest data repositories, you will help craft meaningful user and business experiences. Collaboration with multifaceted teams spanning Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and others will be crucial to address intricate product and business challenges. Your insights and data-driven decisions will direct product strategies and investments with a clear focus on impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze extensive and complex datasets to tackle diverse and demanding problems using various analytical and statistical methods.
- Employ quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and effective visualization to devise strategies supporting products serving billions of users and millions of businesses.
- Track and quantify product success by setting targets, forecasting outcomes, and monitoring principal product metrics to discern trends.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for product enhancement, guiding roadmaps through informed recommendations and data insights.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other teams to guide and execute product strategy and investment choices.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in data querying languages such as SQL, scripting languages like Python, or statistical/mathematical tools such as R.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least six years of professional experience in analytics, or a minimum of four years if holding a Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven capability in integrating AI tools to streamline or redesign workflows, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency or quality.
- Ongoing development of AI skills, including prompt engineering, context management, and agent orchestration, alongside staying updated on emerging AI technologies.
- Experience with responsible AI practices such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality assurance.
- Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) in quantitative fields are an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this role is CA$163,000 to CA$211,000 annually, plus bonuses, equity, and additional benefits.
