Role Overview
An established organization in the United Arab Emirates is looking for a seasoned and detail-focused Data Governance Manager to strengthen its data management practices and support business decision-making.
Position Details
- Role: Data Governance Manager
- Location: United Arab Emirates
- Work arrangement: On-site, with hybrid working also available
- Employment type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out organization-wide frameworks, policies, and standards for data governance.
- Define and maintain processes for data ownership, stewardship, quality control, and data lifecycle management.
- Make sure data handling practices align with privacy laws, internal security requirements, and relevant industry rules.
- Drive initiatives to improve data quality and track governance performance indicators.
- Work closely with both business and technical stakeholders to strengthen data management methods.
- Oversee metadata, master data, and data cataloging activities and programs.
- Carry out governance reviews and suggest practical improvements to existing processes.
- Encourage a company-wide culture that values data-driven decision-making and governance discipline.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- Prior hands-on experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or information management is expected.
- Good knowledge of governance frameworks, policy development, and compliance obligations is important.
- Experience using tools for data governance, metadata management, and data quality is needed.
- Familiarity with databases, data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence environments is necessary.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication ability, and stakeholder coordination skills are essential.
- Professional certifications in data management or governance will be considered an advantage.
