About the Role
Villa Feliciana Medical Complex is focused on delivering medical care and treatment for residents living with acute, subacute, and chronic illnesses or disabilities linked to trauma or genetic conditions. This opening is for a custodian in the Housekeeping Department, where the team works to maintain a clean, safe, and decontaminated environment for patients and staff. The role supports resident comfort by ensuring access to clean clothing, linens, furniture, showers, and other sanitized spaces.

Job Duties
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing assigned spaces. This includes bedside curtains, trash containers, blinds, bathrooms, commodes, sinks, dining areas, contaminated waste bins, patient rooms, restrooms, patios, cigarette debris, and other exterior areas. Handle and dispose of infectious waste every day, including biohazard materials such as blood, urine, and used needles.
- Perform floor care by stripping, buffing, and waxing surfaces with industrial equipment. Use wet/dry vacuum tools and clean furniture, walls, baseboards, doors, mirrors, and shower stalls with approved chemical cleaners that meet health requirements.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers and dryers. Sort, stack, and process laundry and linen, compare items against laundry lists, note discrepancies, and transport linen to and from patient buildings. Keep the laundry area and equipment clean by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying waste containers.
- Use industrial steam-cleaning equipment to wash exterior building surfaces, windows, and walkways. Remove insects from light fixtures and related pest-control equipment, and prepare cleaning mixtures at the correct strength for each task.
- Attend required in-service training on topics such as safety, biohazard handling, chemical safety, new equipment use, and infection-control procedures.
Position Details
This opening may be appointed as Custodian 1, Custodian 2, or Custodian 3. The appointment type may be probational, promotional, or permanent. The work schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role includes longevity pay starting at $1.00 per hour.
