This position is based at Clarence Correctional Centre in Lavadia, New South Wales, where you will be instrumental in managing inmates to ensure safety, security, and support their rehabilitation within a structured and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage inmates, focusing on their rehabilitation and preparation for reintegration into the community.
• Perform searches and monitor inmate activities to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
• Apply communication and problem-solving skills to de-escalate conflicts and uphold order.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support inmate welfare.

Qualifications and Desired Attributes

• No prior experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with empathy and resilience.
• Capacity to remain composed under pressure and apply sound judgment for problem-solving.
• Physically fit to meet the role's demands.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Commitment to complete a fully funded Certificate III in Correctional Practice.

Additional Information and Benefits

• Approximate annual salary starting at $75,077 plus superannuation, with potential to earn over $95,000 plus super.
• Incremental hourly wage increases upon attaining Correctional Officer Level 2 and 3.
