Role Overview
The position of Contracts Administrator is based in the Geelong office during a period of expansion. This role involves managing the complete contract lifecycle for commercial construction projects, including subcontract documentation, procurement coordination, handling contract variations, and ensuring compliance. The Contracts Administrator works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients. There is an opportunity to advance by managing smaller projects as a Junior Project Manager. This role is suited to detail-focused professionals seeking growth in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and distribute all project-related site drawings and documentation, ensuring accuracy, proper version control, and consistency among trades.
- Assist in the on-site coordination of subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and maintain quality standards.
- Prepare, review, and issue subcontract agreements aligned with project scopes and budgets.
- Support negotiation of subcontract terms, pricing, and scope changes to secure favorable commercial outcomes.
- Evaluate, price, and administer contract variations, ensuring all documentation and approvals are in place.
- Monitor contract compliance, manage associated risks, and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review progress claims, monitor cash flow related to projects, and contribute to financial forecasting efforts.
Required Skills and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar contracts administration role within the construction industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- High awareness of safety practices and occupational health and safety standards.
- A proactive, collaborative, and professional working style.
- Experience with construction management software such as Cheops, Jobpack, or equivalents.
