Role Overview
We are seeking a Construction Manager specializing in Quality Control to lead quality assurance and quality control efforts on hyperscale data center construction projects based in Monroe, LA. In this position, you will interact closely with project leadership, superintendents, commissioning teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all construction work meets contract specifications, codes, standards, and owner requirements. Your responsibilities may span civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and connectivity scopes throughout project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quality assurance and control throughout construction lifecycle.
- Conduct field inspections, verifying adherence to contract documents, approved submittals, manufacturer specs, codes, and project specifications, documenting all findings.
- Examine construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and installation methods to confirm compliance with quality expectations.
- Collaborate with project leaders, subcontractors, commissioning teams, client reps, and specialty contractors to address quality concerns and maintain schedules.
- Observe and record inspections, testing, commissioning, and system validation to support commissioning readiness and owner acceptance.
- Identify and document nonconforming work; oversee corrective measures to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection reports, deficiency logs, turnover paperwork, and other quality records.
- Coordinate quality efforts across multiple trades including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and connectivity.
- Utilize construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, and Bluebeam to organize quality documentation and reporting.
- Support project closeout by confirming systems are complete, properly documented, commissioned, and prepared for owner turnover.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with a commitment to technical excellence and delivering flawless projects in dynamic, mission-critical settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of experience in quality control, construction management, field engineering, or commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, installation standards, quality management processes, and relevant building codes.
- Proven ability to review construction documentation including drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
- Experienced in performing quality inspections, managing deficiencies, and overseeing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, and Bluebeam.
- Preferred experience with hyperscale data centers, mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or major commercial construction projects.
- Background in supporting commissioning, integrated systems testing, and phased project turnover.
- Knowledge of owner quality standards and specialized disciplines including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, civil, architectural, fire protection, or connectivity systems.
