Overview
Project Management Institute is hiring a Community Development Specialist II in Singapore to help plan, coordinate, and deliver important community programs across the Asia Pacific region. The position is centered on enabling smooth execution of student-focused, CIP-aligned, and specialized community efforts, while gradually expanding ownership of defined programs.
This opportunity is well suited to someone with a solid foundation in community management, strong organizational ability, and genuine enthusiasm for building connections that matter.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and help deliver student-centered initiatives across APAC in collaboration with chapters and established chapter engagement channels.
- Act as a coordination hub for new volunteer, specialized, and CIP-aligned community efforts, including intake, readiness checks, and alignment with chapter and global stakeholders.
- Spot delivery gaps, risks, and areas for improvement, then share practical recommendations with regional leadership.
- Take on broader ownership of selected programs or initiatives over time, depending on capability, scope clarity, and organizational priorities.
- Support additional short-term or ad hoc assignments as requested by regional leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in community management, engagement, development, or a similar field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent people skills.
- Comfort using project management and organizational tools; this is considered an advantage.
- Experience handling multi-stakeholder work with overlapping timelines and dependencies.
- Background working with student, academic, or early-career audiences is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
- Proven ability to manage several priorities and projects at once.
- High level of ownership, reliable follow-through, and comfort bringing structure to early-stage or unclear initiatives.
- Experience in event management and/or association management is a plus.
- Experience developing and maintaining broad relationship or account management programs and a learning-oriented culture.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deliver operational and strategic outcomes while balancing consistency, localization, and unified communication.
- English fluency is required because it is the company’s primary business and working language.
- Additional language ability is an asset, especially Southeast Asian languages such as Tagalog/Filipino, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, and Thai.
- Travel may be required up to 10% to 15%.
