Job Overview

In collaboration with one of the leading airlines globally, Accor manages lounge kitchen operations at Changi Airport. The Commis Chef role supports the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie in the kitchen’s daily functions, involving meal preparation, cooking responsibilities, handling commercial kitchen appliances, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior culinary staff in preparing and cooking meals according to set recipes and presentation standards to ensure uniformity.
• Prepare ingredients and organize mise en place for designated kitchen sections.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of workstations and kitchen tools.
• Uphold strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols at all times.
• Offer support to the kitchen team during peak service hours.
• Notify Chef de Partie promptly regarding any equipment faults or concerns about food quality.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Basic culinary education or relevant kitchen experience is favored.
• A strong enthusiasm for cooking paired with eagerness to learn is essential.
• Sound knowledge of proper food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Capability to thrive in a high-paced, teamwork-focused environment.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended durations.
