Role Overview

As a Commis 2 at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts located in Ummahat Island 1, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, you will assist in the preparation of food ingredients, ensuring quality and adherence to presentation and recipe standards. This position is full-time and onsite, belonging to the Food and Beverage & Culinary category.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare cooking ingredients through portioning, chopping, peeling, washing, and storing of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other components.
• Weigh, measure, and combine ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook food items utilizing various appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, ensuring proper cooking by testing foods for doneness.
• Assemble cold food items and serve dishes in the correct portions and appropriate receptacles.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, knives, kitchen equipment, and dining surfaces.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures to maintain food safety and quality.
• Set up and dismantle kitchen workstations effectively each shift.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, safety and security protocols, reporting hazards, incidents, or equipment needs to management promptly.
• Wear clean, professional uniforms and maintain personal hygiene and appearance standards.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, develop a positive team environment supporting common objectives.
• Physically capable to stand, sit, walk extensively during shifts, and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds independently.
• Perform additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
• No supervisory responsibilities are involved in this role.
• Licenses or certifications are not required.
