Commis 1 - 5-Star Luxury Hotel

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Commis 1 to become part of the culinary brigade at a high-end 5-star luxury hotel in the Red Sea area of Saudi Arabia. This position is well-suited to a developing culinary professional who wants to sharpen skills in an upscale hospitality setting.

Kitchen Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items in line with the property’s recipes, quality benchmarks, and presentation expectations.
• Keep the assigned station tidy, well-arranged, and compliant with food safety and hygiene practices.
• Work alongside senior kitchen staff with day-to-day prep work and plating tasks.
• Store ingredients and kitchen tools correctly and handle them carefully to maintain quality and safety.
• Follow chef instructions and consistently meet the hotel’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and safety.
• Join kitchen meetings and training activities to strengthen culinary knowledge and practical ability.
• Coordinate smoothly with fellow kitchen team members to support efficient service delivery.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in a Commis 1 position, or a comparable role in a luxury hotel or fine-dining environment, is an advantage.
• Foundational knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices is required.
• Comfort working in a busy, high-pressure kitchen environment is important.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others are needed.
• A dependable work attitude, eagerness to learn, and careful attention to detail are essential.
• Availability to work different shifts based on operational needs is required.
• The candidate must already be in the UAE.
