Role Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the development and implementation of the overall information and digital strategy, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with corporate objectives, operational smoothness, and enhanced customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company's business goals.
• Act as a strategic technology advisor to senior leadership, identifying growth opportunities driven by tech advances.
• Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation projects.
• Manage enterprise IT systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Supervise vendor partnerships, procurement activities, and IT budgeting processes.
• Develop and enforce a company-wide data strategy that supports informed decision-making.
• Promote data governance, ensuring data quality and accessibility across departments.
• Use analytics in collaboration with business unit leaders to optimize performance.
• Identify technology solutions that enhance operational performance and automate workflows.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to improve systems and boost productivity.
• Implement IT governance policies and standards while coordinating with the Chief Information Security Officer to maintain compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to industry norms and Ghanaian regulatory mandates.
• Work alongside the CTO on integrating internal systems with external customer platforms.
• Partner with departmental heads to address technology needs and lead change management for system deployments.
• Build and guide a strong IT operations and systems team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and efficiency.
• Mentor IT personnel to nurture talent within the organization.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines; a Master’s degree (MBA, MIS, or similar) is advantageous.
• At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in fintech or financial services sectors.
• Proven track record managing large-scale technology operations and leading diverse teams.
• Strong expertise in software engineering, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and contemporary IT architecture.
• Robust understanding of data management and analytics methodologies.
• Knowledge of fintech operations, payment systems, or banking platforms is highly preferred.
