Position Overview

Join us as a Cashier and play a vital role in delivering the fresh, friendly shopping atmosphere Farm Boy is known for. This role demands a customer-focused attitude and meticulous attention to detail to ensure all checkout interactions are seamless and pleasant.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm, confident, and engaging customer service that aligns with Farm Boy's dedication to an outstanding fresh shopping experience.
• Greet and assist customers, efficiently process purchases by scanning items, packing orders, and handling payments in accordance with company service standards.
• Share product knowledge with customers and assist with their inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.
• Quickly learn product codes to facilitate fast and accurate checkouts.
• Manage cash and other payment transactions responsibly, including balancing cash registers and ensuring payment accuracy.
• Support overall store functions by answering and directing incoming telephone calls when necessary.
• Handle the sale and safe management of alcohol products where applicable, requiring Smart Serve certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, storage areas, and front-of-store spaces, including retrieving shopping carts from parking lots.
• Adhere strictly to corporate policies, focusing on Health & Safety protocols, Food Safety standards, and proper equipment usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations periodically.

Required Qualifications

• A strong enthusiasm for delivering exceptional and engaging customer service.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous; however, equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered.
• For roles involving alcohol sales, candidates must be at least 18 years old and either have or be willing to obtain Smart Serve certification.
• Ability to work independently with an emphasis on detail orientation, quality work, and maintaining cleanliness.
• A collaborative mindset with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Solid math skills to accurately handle monetary transactions.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, lifting heavy items, and working in cold or outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French is an asset.
