Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and skills in retail service. The Cashier role is centered on delivering outstanding customer service at checkout to foster customer loyalty while diligently protecting company assets.
Key Duties
- Welcome customers warmly and courteously.
- Efficiently process all purchases, including merchandise deactivation based on the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
- Promote Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable activities.
- Support customers by assisting with bagging and loading items.
- Adhere to safety guidelines including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Maintain cash register security and integrity by careful cash handling, following company policies, and staying alert to the environment.
- Direct customers requiring specialized services or transactions to the Customer Service Manager.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.15.
