Role overview
Castleforms Ltd is hiring a CAD Technician for an office-based position in Portlaoise, County Laois. The role is split evenly between CAD/design work and technical support, with regular exposure to live construction projects.
What you will do
- Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings, along with detailed layouts and sectional drawings.
- Draft project specifications and produce technical documentation.
- Work with architects and consultant engineers on project requirements and specifications.
- Assist the technical sales function by providing design guidance and answering project-related queries.
- Maintain and refresh technical files and product information.
- Attend site visits, complete assessments, and record findings from each visit.
- Coordinate with sales, technical, and manufacturing teams to help projects move smoothly from start to finish.

Additional requirements and preferences

- Clear communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with insulated raft foundation systems and insulated concrete forms (ICF) is an advantage.
- Understanding of Irish building regulations and standard construction practices.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel to development sites.
