Team and Role
The Supply Chain team is hiring support for the launch of Dexcom’s first European manufacturing site in Athenry, County Galway. In this Buyer position, you will help coordinate purchasing activities for the site and work with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams to secure inventory in a timely and cost-efficient way.
What You Will Do
- Create, update, and accelerate purchase orders based on MRP requirements and min/max levels.
- Prepare supplier forecasts and manage purchasing for direct and indirect materials in the assigned portfolio.
- Define suitable inventory strategies for the product portfolio.
- Review and provide input on BOM part and commodity details in the ERP system.
- Support supplier relationship management initiatives.
- Maintain inventory levels in line with business objectives.
- Recommend opportunities for cost reduction.
- Work with suppliers and quality teams to address quality-related issues.
- Reduce excess stock and obsolescence.
- Help resolve purchase price variances, accounts payable discrepancies, and MRB dispositions within required timelines.
- Track and report supplier delivery performance.
- Take part in supplier business reviews.
- Monitor on-time delivery and drive corrective actions where needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers on engineering change orders.
- Follow US FDA rules, regulatory requirements, the quality system, and internal policies and procedures.
- Support local sourcing efforts in partnership with Corporate Procurement.
What You Need
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of planning, MRP, and MPS in a purchasing environment.
- Prior experience in medical devices or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of configuration management, including item master and bill of materials.
- A proactive approach to generating and implementing improvements.
- Self-driven working style with strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience and Education
This role normally requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject and 2 to 5 years of related experience.
