About the Opportunity
This opportunity is with a multi-modal third-party logistics (3PL) and freight brokerage company operating across various freight types including over-the-road (OTR), refrigerated/temperature-controlled shipments, intermodal transportation, cross-border logistics, and customs management. The company's identity will be disclosed to selected candidates. The position is open to applicants located in the United States and Canada and offers a fully remote work setting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary options include either a base salary ranging from $60,000 to $100,000 plus a 10% commission on gross profit (GP), or a fully commissioned plan offering 65% of GP.
- Commissions are paid monthly.
- Tools provided include a laptop and cell phone.
- Employee benefits are available in both US and Canadian locations.
Role Responsibilities
- Proactively initiate outbound cold calls to new prospects on a daily basis, focusing solely on outbound sales efforts.
- Develop, own, and manage a personal sales pipeline from initial contact to successfully closing accounts.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with existing clients beyond merely acquiring new ones.
- Collaborate closely with logistics coordinators to ensure fulfillment of sold services.
- Fully responsible for achieving sales targets, emphasizing a hunter mindset.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of three to four years of experience in business development within the freight forwarding industry.
- Unquestionable industry-specific experience is mandatory.
- Proven success in independently generating and building a robust sales pipeline rather than managing pre-existing customer relationships.
- Ability to work autonomously and adeptness at handling unplanned challenges without a set playbook.
- Strong negotiation skills, including deal structuring and pricing discussions.
