Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst skilled in analyzing financial statements and performing detailed financial spreading to aid global investment operations. This position demands a thorough understanding of various financial documents and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and accompanying notes.
• Execute financial spreading using sector-specific templates and tools to maintain consistent data quality.
• Perform peer reviews to validate accuracy and uphold quality standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders including Investment Officers and the Center of Excellence for clarifications and issue resolutions.
• Develop and update company financial records within systems like iPortal/iDesk.
• Identify discrepancies, carry out root cause analysis, and enhance existing processes.
• Guide and mentor junior analysts by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Provide regular updates on progress concerning volume, quality, and deadlines.
• Support global teams by covering rotational shifts as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis and financial spreading.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial ratios.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Indian GAAP; familiarity with US GAAP is an advantage.
• Proficiency with financial spreading tools such as Moody’s and Credit Lens.
• Capability to detect audit concerns and assess financial risks effectively.
• Excellent communication abilities and competence in managing stakeholder relationships.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications related to IFRS are advantageous.
• Language proficiency in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese is a plus.
• Experience with investment-specific financial systems and operational guidelines adds value.
