Role overview
Grey Matlock Bakery is looking for a bread slicer operator to help run bakery production equipment and package food items in a busy on-site environment in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Work environment
This position is based in a bakery setting that can be noisy and hot. The work is done in a fast-moving production space where attention to detail and the ability to handle repetitive duties are important.
Key duties
- Run equipment used to process, bag, box, and package food products.
- Carry out machine corrections and make needed operating adjustments.
- Track and document production details during the shift.
- Clean equipment and keep the immediate work area tidy.
- Notify the supervisor if machinery breaks down or if product quality issues are noticed.
- Adjust processing settings and other process variables as required.
- Maintain a shift log with production counts and related data.
- Set up and fine-tune processing and packaging machinery.
- Inspect products to confirm they meet company quality standards.
Type of operation
The role is tied to baking and cooking operations.
Travel and commute
Public transit is available for commuting to the workplace.
Working conditions and physical demands
The job involves repetitive tasks, physical effort, careful hand-eye coordination, and a mix of sitting, standing, and walking. You should be comfortable standing for long periods and working in positions that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling. The environment is paced quickly and requires close attention to detail.

Schedule
