Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled BMS & Fire Control Center (FCC) Operator to oversee the building management system and fire safety operations for a site in Doha, Qatar. The role entails continuous monitoring and managing of HVAC, fire alarm, and life safety systems to ensure occupant comfort, safety, and energy efficiency.
Primary Duties
- Continuously supervise and control site-wide BMS graphical interfaces (such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and optimize HVAC-related equipment including chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, pumps, variable air volume systems, and cooling towers.
- Track and analyze energy consumption, system setpoints, running hours, and logging to support sustainability and efficiency goals.
- Detect faults and sensor anomalies promptly and coordinate with maintenance technicians for immediate resolution.
- Maintain vigilant operation of Fire Alarm Control Panels, voice evacuation systems, sprinkler flow switches, fire pumps, and smoke control mechanisms through the FCC console.
- Document and verify alarms related to fire and life safety, initiate emergency responses including voice evacuation and coordination with civil defense or emergency services if needed.
- Supervise interfaces such as fire dampers, stairwell pressurization fans, gas suppression systems, and elevator recall operations related to fire safety.
- Log all system alarms, generating maintenance work orders using digital CAFM/CMMS tools, and coordinate technician movements during inspections or emergencies.
- Set fire and BMS zones in test or bypass modes during planned maintenance, preventing false alarms and ensuring timely system restoration.
- Maintain thorough shift logs covering alarm incidents, equipment overrides, and site activities.
- Prepare operational reports daily, weekly, and monthly focusing on system uptime, alarm trends, and environmental compliance.
- Record energy meter readings such as electricity, chilled water, and water consumption from BMS/SCADA systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational background in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering via Diploma, ITI, or Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum three years’ experience in operating BMS and Fire Alarm/FCC systems within commercial, industrial, or high-rise building settings.
- Hands-on expertise with major BMS platforms including Desigo CC, Metasys, EBO, Niagara, or Tridium.
- Familiarity with fire alarm hardware such as Notifier, Simplex, EST, Siemens and adherence to NFPA and local civil defense regulations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC cycles, chilled water plant operations, electrical distribution, and fire suppression technologies.
Soft Skills

- Proficient command of the English language in both spoken and written forms.
