About the Role

As a Bid Writer, you will be instrumental in producing high-quality, tailored bid proposals for civil engineering and construction tenders, helping to secure successful contracts and reinforce the company's market position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compose, compile, and format detailed bid documents tailored to civil construction projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and tender specifications.
  • Customize bid content focusing on timelines, costs, methodologies, and quality standards unique to each project.
  • Guarantee compliance of bids with all relevant legal, regulatory, and technical guidelines established by clients or authorities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, estimators, and cross-functional teams to gather accurate and current project data.
  • Conduct research on site conditions, project scope, client preferences, industry trends, market pricing, and competitor activities to enhance bid competitiveness.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to collect quotations, pricing, and technical details needed for bids.
  • Maintain seamless communication across all involved departments to ensure bid accuracy and coherence.
  • Review bid documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to tender requirements, reinforcing the company's reputation as a dependable contractor.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer in infrastructure, construction, or technical writing contexts.
  • Familiarity with construction or civil engineering sectors and tender processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals including engineers, estimators, and project managers.
  • History of delivering clear, precise, and high-quality documentation under tight deadlines.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, English, creative writing, or related disciplines.
  • Strong skills in writing, editing, and technical communication to simplify complex information into persuasive content.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Advanced research and analytical capabilities to interpret technical and project-specific data.
