BER Consultant & Product Development Specialist

About the Role

BERGO is building a new digital platform to modernise Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments in Ireland. The goal is to move the process away from paperwork, improve accuracy, and help assessors complete more assessments in less time.

This position is aimed at an experienced energy professional who wants to apply hands-on assessment knowledge to product development. You will collaborate with the BERGO team on platform testing, refinement, and growth while also carrying out practical field-based assessment work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out residential BER assessments and building surveys.
• Review and test BERGO software functionality, features, and user flows.
• Share real-world assessment insights to help guide product improvements.
• Help define digital assessment methods and standard operating practices.
• Support the preparation of training resources, user manuals, and technical documents.
• Take part in pilot programmes and product demonstrations.
• Assist with quality checks and data verification.
• Contribute to customer onboarding and gathering user feedback.
• Help improve BERGO’s products and service offering over time.
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with assessors, industry contacts, and clients.

Essential Requirements

• You must be a qualified Domestic BER Assessor registered with SEAI.
• Strong working knowledge of DEAP and Irish BER assessment methods is required.
• Prior experience in residential BER assessments is essential.
• You should have strong accuracy, organisation, communication, and people skills.
• Ability to work on your own and manage priorities effectively is important.
• Comfort using digital systems and technology is expected.
• A full clean driving licence is mandatory.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with BER survey software or digital measurement tools.
• Knowledge of building fabric, heating systems, ventilation, and renewable energy technologies.
• Background in technical training, coaching, or mentoring.
• Interest in software products, innovation, and digital change.
• Experience in quality assurance or technical auditing.
