Barista - Specialty Hot Drinks

About the Role

SIHAMCO is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista specialized in specialty hot beverages to enhance our hospitality team. The role requires expertise in preparing and serving a variety of signature coffees and crafted hot drinks while delivering superior guest experiences consistently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and serve premium specialty coffee and hot beverages adhering to established methods and presentation styles.
• Prepare a range of espresso-based drinks such as espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, mocha, plus seasonal and signature beverages.
• Create intricate latte art and manage espresso extraction, steam and texture milk accurately.
• Prepare specialty teas, hot chocolate, chai, matcha, and other non-coffee hot drinks as required.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked beverage station during service.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment following opening and closing protocols.
• Monitor supply inventory to ensure timely replenishment and minimize waste while preserving quality.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, and health standards rigorously.
• Collaborate effectively with service and kitchen teams for smooth operations.
• Participate in developing and testing new specialty and seasonal drinks.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive demeanor at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Barista in specialty coffee shops, upscale restaurants, hotels, or similar high-end hospitality settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of specialty coffee preparation and espresso beverages.
• Proven skills in operating and maintaining espresso machines and grinders.
• Expertise in milk steaming, texturing, and advanced latte art.
• Experienced in preparing signature and creatively crafted hot beverages.
• Understanding of coffee beans, roast profiles, extraction techniques, and brewing fundamentals.
• Strong grasp of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English; other languages are beneficial.
• Barista or specialty coffee certifications preferred.
