Job Overview

The Associate Mechanical Engineer role involves applying standard mechanical procedures to address routine engineering challenges. Under guidance from senior team members, the engineer will utilize foundational knowledge of mechanical theories, practices, and engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing drawings, documents, and inspection/test procedures supplied by vendors and manufacturers
  • Support Mechanical Engineers and purchasing teams in evaluating technical and commercial bids
  • Incorporate applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in engineering work and decisions

Reporting and Collaboration

Reports to Project Lead Engineer and the Functional Supervisor or Engineering Manager, collaborating closely with engineers, design supervisors, and discipline-specific designers. Does not supervise other staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree is advantageous
  • Experience of up to 3 years in the Oil and Gas sector
  • Preferably registered as Engineer in Training (EIT) or affiliated with a professional engineering organization
  • Proficient written and conversational English (minimum B2 proficiency)
