Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Accra. The Assistant Technical Manager will work closely with the Technical Manager to help supervise production operations, maintain product standards, and support technical upgrades across the manufacturing process. The role involves coordinating with production staff, tracking equipment performance, diagnosing technical problems, and assisting with the planning and delivery of technical initiatives.
Key Duties
- Support the Technical Manager in managing production workflows and improving technical efficiency.
- Work with production teams to keep operations running smoothly and to address issues as they arise.
- Monitor machinery and equipment performance and help resolve technical faults.
- Contribute to the execution of technical projects and process-improvement activities.
- Take part in research and development work aimed at product and process enhancement.
- Help organize technical training for staff and reinforce proper procedures.
- Assist in maintaining workplace safety and compliance requirements within the facility.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong analytical ability to review production information, spot concerns, and suggest practical improvements.
- People leadership and project coordination skills for guiding small teams and completing tasks on schedule.
- Hands-on technical troubleshooting skills to support maintenance and solve equipment-related issues.
- Exposure to research and development activities to contribute to innovation and process optimization.
- A diploma or degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a similar field is an added advantage.
- Prior manufacturing experience, particularly in foam or related products, is beneficial.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.
- Understanding of safety practices and quality control methods is preferred.
