Position Overview

The Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory seeks a dedicated Assistant Scientist specializing in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. CNM is a Department of Energy Office of Science user facility offering global researchers access to state-of-the-art tools and expertise for multidisciplinary nanoscience research. The center supports innovative science endeavors by both staff and an international user community.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will conduct foundational research and development aimed at progressing nanoscience and nanotechnology. A significant responsibility includes actively engaging with and expanding the CNM's scientific user community.

Research Focus Areas

• Nanoscience impacts on renewable energy and sustainability
• Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in nanomaterials synthesis and data analysis

Candidate Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physical Sciences is the minimum qualification
• Robust background in nanoscience and nanotechnology research
• Utilize and build upon existing advanced capabilities and scientific knowledge at CNM
