Role Overview
We seek motivated and dedicated individuals to join the Cardiac Physiology team at Manchester Foundation Trust Wythenshawe Hospital. The successful candidate will rotate across various sites to support cardiac diagnostic services within a large tertiary center and community healthcare environments. The department provides a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests and actively encourages staff development and the evolution of new roles to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support qualified cardiac physiologists in conducting non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures in hospital and community settings.
- Perform various duties involving direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Consider and assist in addressing patients' psychological, social, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Discuss relevant diagnostic procedures with patients to support their understanding and comfort.
- Participate in diagnostic tests that contribute to patient care plans developed by healthcare teams.
- Engage in continuous skill development to improve diagnostic capabilities.
- Conduct a range of non-invasive cardiac tests and perform initial interpretations.
- Record and provide first-line reports of resting ECGs.
- Set up and monitor multi-modality cardiac arrhythmia and ambulatory blood pressure devices.
- Prepare patients and oversee physiological monitoring during cardiac and cardiorespiratory exercise assessments.
- Assist with Linq implant procedures and patient education concerning remote monitoring techniques.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Help manage daily service operations and maintain standards of care locally and trust-wide.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives, identifying and reporting any risks related to patient health and social care.
