About the Role
The Assistant Manager of Resource Development plays a crucial part in advancing the organisation's fundraising efforts and partnership goals. This role involves managing corporate partnerships, driving digital fundraising campaigns, and engaging donors. It supports cultivating foundations, major gift donors, and recurring donors, while aiding in the execution of fundraising events. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is vital to strengthen donor relations and secure consistent funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and engage new donors including corporate partners and foundations aligned with the organisation’s mission, leveraging research, networking, and CSR initiatives.
- Identify fundraising opportunities and develop funding proposals to support donor engagement and meet financial objectives.
- Prepare professional, accurate funding proposals, presentations, and reports compliant with organisational messaging and governance standards.
- Design and execute donor engagement strategies that promote communication, recognition, and stewardship, aiming to improve donor retention and value.
- Develop digital fundraising initiatives to diversify income channels.
- Work closely with Programme, Marketing & Communications, and Volunteer Management teams to promote fundraising programs.
- Assist with major fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
- Support cultivation and stewardship of major donors, including high-net-worth individuals and recurring supporters.
- Evaluate event performance and donor participation to refine future fundraising tactics.
- Maintain accurate and timely donor, partnership, and fundraising data in CRM systems, ensuring integrity, traceability and readiness for audits and reports.
- Identify workflow improvements to optimize data management and stewardship practices.
- Research donor trends and behaviors to inform targeted fundraising strategies.
Candidate Profile
- University graduate with at least 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, or relationship management; fundraising, event management, and corporate partnerships experience in the non-profit sector are advantageous.
- Diploma holders with relevant fundraising or donor development experience in non-profits will also be considered.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive to pursue new opportunities.
- Results-driven, proactive, and resilient, skilled at using data insights to guide strategy and improve outcomes.
- Passion for building partnerships that deliver social impact.
- Leadership capabilities to motivate teams and encourage collaboration and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging a diverse range of stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Adaptable team player capable of independent and cross-functional work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software; adept at internet research.
- Willing to uphold and communicate the organisation’s core principles and values.
- Hands-on attitude and readiness to work actively on the ground.
