Job Overview
The Assistant In-Room Dining Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the in-room dining service to ensure guests enjoy a seamless and satisfying experience. This includes supervising order taking, food and beverage delivery, and menu presentations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage warmly and professionally with guests and staff, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Adhere strictly to company standards and safety regulations to maintain efficient hotel operations.
- Serve as the communication link among servers, guests, and kitchen personnel.
- Manage and support daily operations across all shifts, including cleaning tasks following corporate SOPs and replenishing supplies.
- Supervise guest seating arrangements and ensure correct service distribution.
- Oversee shift staffing and ensure proper setup of table dressing areas.
- Ensure high-quality tabletop presentation during meal service.
- Maintain active floor presence by interacting and greeting guests throughout the shift.
- Develop shift schedules aligned with hotel occupancy and special events.
- Address and resolve guest feedback effectively to enhance satisfaction.
- Attain comprehensive menu knowledge for accurate descriptions and recommendations.
- Provide assistance in other Food & Beverage outlets as necessary.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, linens, and other essential supplies.
- Manage POS systems, monitoring guest checks and generating hotel reports.
- Assume additional duties in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven customer service excellence.
- Prior experience in an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or supervisory capacity, preferably within a 5-star or luxury hotel setting.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable about food and beverage preparation methods, health and safety regulations, and liquor laws.
