Job description
About Aajil
Aajil is a Saudi-based fintech company compliant with Sharia law, focusing on B2B working capital solutions for the industrial supply chain involving contractors, traders, and manufacturers. Their key market challenge is to introduce structured, Sharia-compliant credit purchasing as an essential and familiar concept using language that resonates authentically with their customers, avoiding typical fintech jargon.
Role Overview
This Arabic Copywriter role involves transforming abstract brand or campaign objectives into compelling copy that is live and actively engaging the intended customer profile (ICP). You will deeply understand the customer’s language and culture before crafting any text, ensuring every piece sounds recognizably authentic to Aajil’s brand voice in native Saudi Arabic.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the copywriting process from vague ideas through final publication, producing content across blogs, social media captions, paid advertisements, outdoor placements, video/audio scripts, landing pages, and sales materials.
- Write exclusively in native Saudi Arabic without reliance on translations or external localization.
- Ensure all content adheres strictly to Sharia compliance, avoiding any language implying interest or unprovable promises.
- Maintain consistent brand voice across all formats and volumes, proactively identifying and correcting any drift or generic tones.
Candidate Profile
- Communicates in Saudi Arabic as a local businessperson would, not relying on formal Modern Standard Arabic translated from English.
- Manages a unified voice effectively across different content lengths and types.
- Prioritizes customer realities, aligning copy with believable, relevant moments derived from the ICP data.
- Possesses a keen understanding of Sharia-compliant language restrictions and proactively prevents compliance issues.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment necessitating regular, high-volume output rather than limited, boutique projects.
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Saudi Arabic, both written and spoken.
- Minimum three years of copywriting experience with a portfolio showing original Arabic content for social, campaigns, or advertisements targeted at business audiences (not translations).
- Experience writing B2B or business-focused content rather than consumer or lifestyle pieces.
- Proficient in English for internal communications (brief writing, feedback, team chats), although deliverables must be Arabic-first.
Preferred Experience
- Background in fintech, financial services, B2B trade, or the contracting and industrial sectors.
- Expertise in crafting video or audio scripts, including understanding effective hook structures and voiceover pacing.
- Specific experience targeting Saudi audiences rather than general Gulf or MENA regions.
Role Clarifications
- This is not a translation position—copy is created from Arabic customer perspectives, not converted from English.
- The role involves executing a pre-established brand positioning at a very high standard; strategic brand positioning development is outside this scope.
- Outputs are expected regularly, with weekly deliverables including multiple blogs and many social media captions rather than infrequent large projects.
Working Style and Expectations
- High degree of ownership with minimal supervision, working directly from ICP insights and product data rather than detailed creative briefs.
- Weekly workload includes about 3 or more blogs, 14-20 social media captions, plus campaign-related materials like paid ads, outdoor advertising, and video/audio scripts.
- Close early collaboration on calibrating brand tone, then increasing autonomy as the brand voice becomes established.
Additional Information
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, prefers resolving issues independently or collaboratively rather than escalating, and seeks early ownership of their work scope. Interested applicants should review the company's detailed guidelines on compliance and work culture before applying.
