AI/ML Computational Scientist

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning algorithms, models, and computational frameworks.
• Create scalable data pipelines and incorporate MLOps and DevOps best practices to streamline production deployment processes.
• Customize deep learning and generative AI models tailored to specific business requirements, data constraints, and infrastructure capabilities.
• Optimize model performance across high-performance computing environments and edge devices.
• Engage in research and development activities to enhance AI techniques and computational capabilities.
• Prepare and preprocess extensive datasets to ensure model input quality and efficacy.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including business strategists, engineers, and designers to deliver comprehensive AI solutions.
• Interact with clients to capture their needs, guide AI strategy formulation, and communicate the value of AI applications effectively.
• Provide mentorship to junior colleagues on AI and machine learning methodologies and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in developing machine learning algorithms and computational models.
• Practical experience customizing deep learning and generative AI models.
• Proven skills in constructing scalable data pipelines and handling large datasets.
• Knowledge of MLOps and DevOps concepts relevant to AI model training, monitoring, and deployment.
• Experience with high-performance computing or deploying AI on edge devices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable business insights.
• Strong collaboration skills working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced academic degree in computer science, machine learning, computational mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Expertise in optimizing AI models for HPC or devices with limited resources.
• Understanding of generative AI frameworks and large language models.
• Experience with AI/ML research or scholarly publications.
• Background in consulting or client-facing engagements.
• Knowledge of causal inference, probabilistic models, and simulation methodologies.
• Contributions towards open-source AI or machine learning projects.
