Role Overview
Kuok Maritime Group is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to oversee AP operations at the Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia location. This role is responsible for ensuring that payables activities are accurate, timely, and well-controlled, while also improving workflows and supporting broader finance operations.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the company’s Accounts Payable process and keep all transactions accurate and completed on time.
- Act as the main contact for procure-to-payment activities.
- Work closely with internal teams to strengthen AP operations and improve efficiency.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate AP policies and procedures so they are easy to follow and implement.
- Review existing finance workflows and systems, then standardize and improve them for better efficiency.
- Guide, encourage, and manage the team to deliver quality work within deadlines.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring supplier statements are reconciled each month, intercompany recoveries are billed monthly, accruals are monitored and reversed on time, and vendor advances are cleared within a reasonable period.
- Prepare VAT and withholding tax reports.
- Use strong knowledge of AP operations and vendor invoice management to keep the process running smoothly.
- Partner with departments, suppliers, and compliance teams to resolve issues and improve SOP adherence.
- Apply strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to prioritize multiple tasks and complete assigned projects independently.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, and be willing to step in and cover open roles when needed.
Treasury Responsibilities
- Update signature authority records whenever changes are required.
- Open or close bank accounts as needed.
- Track and resolve bank-related issues.
Education and Experience
- A degree in Accountancy or an equivalent accounting qualification is required.
- The role calls for at least 5 years of finance experience, including 3 years in a leadership position.
- Knowledge of SAP is needed.
- Advanced Excel capability is expected.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
