About the Role
This role is based in Gippsland, Victoria, on Gunai Kurnai Country, with flexible roster options ranging between 46 and 70 hours per fortnight. Positions are both fixed term and ongoing, offering a pro rata salary between $68,000 and $76,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications, plus salary packaging, superannuation, and penalty rates. Work Schedule Example
A sample part-time roster involves 47.5 hours over two weeks, including various shifts across mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within a dedicated team to provide high-quality therapeutic care.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic interventions and programs to ensure child safety and care quality.
- Act as a positive role model supporting education, social interaction, recreation, and independence for young people.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing home environment, including household management and preparing healthy meals.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Strong teamwork skills, able to engage constructively with multiple stakeholders for the benefit of young people.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including respectful listening, establishing boundaries, and relationship building.
- Adaptability and resilience in facing change, multitasking, and creative problem-solving without judgment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license (minimum green provisional) as transportation of young people is occasionally required.
- Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or an equivalent credential.
- Commitment to completing mandatory upskilling units within six months as required by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
