Waste Coordinator

Role Overview

As a Waste Coordinator, you will oversee proper waste handling and collection while acting as the environmental representative at your logistics location. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and waste reduction goals will be your primary focus.

Key Responsibilities

• Classify waste accurately, ensuring proper storage, segregation, packaging, labeling, and preparation for removal per European and local regulations.
• Conduct thorough environmental inspections to promote continuous improvements, inspecting waste collection points, spill emergency kits, product inspection areas, and waste management tools.
• Assist the facility in compiling monthly waste analyses to monitor quantities and identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor site environmental incidents and participate in investigations, collaborating closely with the local environmental manager.
• Maintain the waste storage area and related safety equipment (eye wash station, spill kits, fire extinguishers).
• Coordinate all waste pickups as the contact for disposal vendors, including sending collection reports, scheduling pickups, tracking delivery documents, and managing transport documentation.
• Research trends, inventory losses, and cost-saving opportunities where applicable.

Daily Activities

You will facilitate cooperation among Operations, Facilities & Engineering, and Environmental Safety & Protection teams. Tasks include coordinating internal hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, managing donation processes, optimizing external waste pick-ups, overseeing internal pallet disposal, handling special projects, and supporting the technical department. You will be trained on applicable regulations to provide technical guidance on waste disposal and implement global environmental programs.

The Customer Fulfillment (CF) Team is foundational, managing over 1.5 million daily orders worldwide. It evolved from a small group into a global, experienced team handling inventory management and round-the-clock delivery. Our Fulfillment Centers—often called the “first mile”—are central to dynamic operations, offering diverse roles ranging from handling physical products to data analysis that supports business decisions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Advanced proficiency in German, both spoken and written.
• Experience using MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Technical understanding of waste management processes.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations.

Preferred:

• Advanced English skills in speaking and writing.
• Background in logistics, operations, warehouse, or customer-focused environments.
• Strong attention to detail and care in work.
