Overview
Lancashire County Council is strengthening its community support befriending service and invites applications for three Volunteer Services Officers. This full-time, permanent position offers 37 working hours weekly, based in Preston, England. The role focuses on supporting individuals facing social isolation and vulnerability by coordinating volunteer efforts to foster connections and enhance wellbeing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and support volunteers assigned to befriending roles.
- Handle service referrals, carry out detailed home assessments, and carefully match volunteers with clients to ensure safeguarding.
- Keep thorough records of activities and evaluate outcomes.
- Maintain safeguarding protocols, uphold boundaries, and ensure quality standards are met.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience working with volunteers, community groups, or vulnerable populations.
