Value Engineering Expert

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Value Engineering Expert to lead and facilitate value improvement initiatives across various infrastructure and construction projects. The ideal candidate will oversee Value Engineering studies, workshops, and decision-making processes aimed at optimizing costs while preserving project quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Value Engineering (VE) studies and interactive workshops during project design and execution phases.
• Facilitate Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) workshops to uncover potential value enhancements.
• Conduct cost optimization exercises, Life Cycle Costing (LCC) analyses, and comprehensive cost-benefit evaluations.
• Develop and assess engineering alternatives through systematic option generation and VE methodologies.
• Apply Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to evaluate technical and commercial solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary engineering, commercial, and project control teams.
• Review engineering designs, recommending changes that reduce costs without sacrificing functionality, quality, safety, or performance.
• Compile detailed VE reports, presentations, and proposals for client approval and decision-making.
• Offer support to design consultants and internal project groups during concept, preliminary, detailed design, and Issued for Construction (IFC) phases.
• Ensure all VE activities comply with SAVE International standards, client specifications, and project governance frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• Certification as a Certified Value Specialist (CVS) from SAVE International is preferred; Associate Value Specialist (AVS) certification will also be considered.
• At least 12 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Value Engineering applied to large infrastructure projects such as transportation, railways, aviation, highways, or major construction endeavors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead Value Engineering workshops and manage multidisciplinary teams successfully.
• In-depth knowledge of FAST methodology, Life Cycle Costing, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Risk Assessment, and overall Value Management principles.
• Experience collaborating with international engineering consultants, Project Management Consultants (PMC), or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms.
• Strong capabilities in report writing, workshop facilitation, presentation delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
