Position Overview
The Teller/Cashier will be entrusted with managing daily financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, transfers, and related cash dealings. Responsibilities include ensuring transactional accuracy, efficient cash management, balancing the cash drawer, verifying client details, maintaining transaction logs, and adhering strictly to COOPEC COMICOKA's internal policies and procedures. Additionally, providing courteous and professional customer support, addressing inquiries, explaining relevant financial products and services, and directing customers to appropriate personnel when necessary are key elements of this role. High standards of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and accountability are essential when handling clients' funds and sensitive financial data.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum academic credential: A2 qualification in Accounting or a similar discipline.
- Proficient numerical and cash handling capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and transactional accuracy.
- Effective communication and strong customer service skills.
- Fundamental computer literacy, including office applications.
- Capability to work diligently and efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated high integrity, honesty, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Ability to comply with internal controls and procedures.
- Experience in banking, microfinance, Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs), or comparable financial sectors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda is mandatory; conversational proficiency in English and/or French is a plus.
