Support Worker - Westmeath Day Services

Overview

We are hiring enthusiastic, innovative, and energetic Support Workers to join the team at Westmeath Day Services. This role involves leading efforts to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives based on their personal choices and priorities. The position emphasizes supporting individuals to engage meaningfully within their local communities, offering opportunities to explore new experiences, and fostering genuine relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate initiatives that support individuals to live in ways that matter personally to them.
• Encourage community involvement and enhance social connection for service users.
• Help individuals form authentic, valued social roles and relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support or Health Service Skills.
• Proven experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Competence in supporting individuals with diverse needs, including those exhibiting behaviours of concern.
• Possession of a valid full manual driver’s license in Ireland.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various situations.
• Collaborative team player who is reliable and supportive.
• Demonstrated commitment to connecting individuals with their local communities.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, logistical, and IT abilities.
