About the Role
The Storeperson position is vital to the Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract, directly supporting Australia's Defence capabilities. Based at Kokoda Barracks in Canungra, Queensland, this role involves warehouse tasks such as inventory control, freight handling, receiving, storage, packing, and distribution of Defence equipment and supplies. The environment prioritizes safety, precision, accountability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of Defence-related materials and equipment.
- Operate forklifts and various material handling machinery proficiently.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to maintain accurate stock records and generate reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and Defence regulations, including maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet operational goals.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in warehousing or logistics sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Possession of a forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license, ideally C class or HR license; holding a Heavy Rigid (HR) truck license is favorable.
- Must have current NV1 Security Clearance.
- Ability to work outdoors to deliver equipment and stores to Defence personnel in field environments.
- Physical fitness sufficient for manual handling duties.
- Excellent team communication, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Strong time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced workplace.
Eligibility Requirements
- Australian citizenship is mandatory.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain AGSVA Defence Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher as applicable.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including criminal background, medical, and other assessments.
