About the Company
EnCharge AI is building advanced hardware and software for AI workloads across edge-to-cloud environments. Its next-generation in-memory computing platform is designed to deliver much higher compute efficiency and density than leading solutions available today, while staying well suited for applications constrained by power, energy, and space. Founded in 2022, the company is led by experienced technologists with deep backgrounds in semiconductor design and AI systems.
Role Overview
The company is hiring a senior AI Compiler Engineer to lead the creation and tuning of graph compilers for modern AI and machine learning workloads. In this role, you will work with hardware architects and AI researchers to improve model execution, optimize computation graphs, and help deploy models efficiently on inference accelerators.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine compiler optimizations that improve AI model execution, lower latency, and increase hardware efficiency.
- Partner with ML researchers, hardware specialists, and software engineers to deploy models while solving platform-specific constraints.
- Develop performance improvements for neural networks, including layer fusion, operator fusion, and other graph-level transformations.
- Create compiler passes and transformations that translate higher-level AI models such as TensorFlow and PyTorch into intermediate representations.
- Build parsing, semantic analysis, and IR generation support for deep learning frameworks.
- Evaluate new advances in compiler technology, model optimization, and hardware acceleration, and incorporate suitable ideas into graph compiler systems.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to engineers working on graph compiler optimization initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- 7 to 13 years of experience in compiler development, especially for AI or ML graph compilers.
- Hands-on experience with AI graph compiler frameworks such as MLIR and Torch-FX.
- Strong understanding of hardware architectures such as GPUs, TPUs, and ASICs, along with optimization methods like fusion, quantization, and tiling.
- Knowledge of neural network operators and code generation.
- Good grasp of intermediate representations, parsing, and semantic analysis in compiler design.
- Programming experience in C++, Python, or similar languages commonly used for compiler work.
- Open-source work in AI software frameworks or libraries is an advantage.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and deliver projects successfully.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
Additional Information
This role is based in Bengaluru and follows a hybrid work arrangement. The source also mentions design centers in Santa Clara, California, and locations in Hyderabad and Bangalore. The employer is described as a well-funded, US-based product startup seeking highly talented engineers.
