Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position is based in Singapore and entails operating SMRT trains along scheduled routes. The driver is responsible for ensuring trains run safely and on time by adhering to signaling protocols, speed regulations, and company procedures. Daily tasks involve monitoring train systems, managing departure and arrival formalities, and addressing any operational or passenger issues with composure. Pre-trip inspections, effective communication with control and station teams, and providing seamless travel experience for passengers are key components of the role.
Qualifications and Skills
- Deep understanding of rail operations including rail transport processes.
- Proven focus on safety with knowledge of rail safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with freight and passenger transport dynamics.
- Ability to engage in structured training programs on rail systems and follow procedures accurately.
- Possession of a valid train driver certification/license in Singapore or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong situational awareness and problem-solving aptitude, maintaining composure under stress.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with attention to instructions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per operational demands.
- Minimum secondary education or equivalent; prior experience in rail or transportation operations preferred.
