The role of Site Agent is critical on a specific site, requiring extensive experience with reinforced concrete framing, curtain walling for facades, and high-quality internal finishes. The Site Agent is the principal construction lead responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality supervision of site operations from preparation through the full construction phase.

Responsibilities

Contribute to creating the initial project programme and understand weekly targets.
Plan and manage site setup to ensure necessary facilities are ready before the project launch.
Maintain effective relationships with subcontractors working on site.
Ensure rigorous compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability protocols at all times.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
Oversee and regularly update the temporary works register.
Identify and communicate any issues related to materials, resources, schedules, safety, or financial impacts to contract management or commercial teams.
Accelerate project progress through detailed work planning and prioritization.
Monitor onsite energy consumption and waste data.
Supervise foremen and site staff, leading daily whiteboard meetings.
Ensure all employees adhere to incident response protocols.
Manage complete project delivery from mobilization to completion stages.
Communicate site requirements to commercial teams and assist in balancing technical and financial concerns efficiently.
Delegate duties appropriately among site personnel.
Maintain thorough, contemporaneous site documentation and records.
Adhere to the project execution plan to achieve timely and budget-compliant delivery.
Implement and administer a secure registration system for all personnel entering and exiting the site.

Experience

More than 10 years of hands-on experience delivering construction projects across various sectors.
Proven ability to build consensus and foster positive working relationships.
Solid knowledge of industrial relations practices.
Track record of leading teams and managing medium to large-scale construction projects.
Strong leadership and people management skills overseeing subcontractors and staff.
Effective communication skills to engagingly liaise with colleagues and clients.
Deep understanding of trades, regulatory codes, and specific site requirements.
Decisive decision-making capabilities with strong prioritization aligned to project needs.
Composure under pressure with a leadership style based on example-setting.
Proven experience managing conflicting priorities and challenging stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential:

Trade or technical background qualification.
IOSH or equivalent health and safety management certification.
Training in temporary works and excavation safety.
Authorization training for live energy works permitting.
Accreditation in working at heights and scaffolding.
Training in lifting and cranage operations.
Other health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability (HSEQS) training as per site requirements.
Familiarity with new construction technology systems.
Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategies.

Desirable:

Relevant project management qualifications or coursework.
Completion of internal management development programmes.
Degree in engineering, construction management, or related disciplines.
